St Antony’s College Reunions in Japan

The Warden of St Antony’s College Professor Margaret MacMillan will be visiting Japan in April, and special dinners for Antonians will be held in Tokyo on Saturday 11 April, and in Fukuoka on Wednesday 15 April. If you are a graduate of St Antony’s or have some other affiliation with the College please take this unique opportunity to meet the Warden and other Antonians based in Japan.

St Antony’s College is a graduate college in the north of Oxford with very strong links to Japan as it is home to the University’s Nissan Institute for Japanese Studies as well as a large number of Japan experts and scholars. It is also one of the most international colleges in Oxford with more than 400 students from 77 different countries. It houses seven research centres focused on Africa, Asia, Europe, Japan, Latin America, the Middle East, Russia and Eurasia, as well as programmes on North America, Burma, Morocco, Poland, Sudan and Taiwan.

Professor Margaret MacMillan is a Professor in International History with research interests including imperial history, social history, the history of war and society, and international history. She became Warden of St Antony’s College in 2007.

There are large numbers of Antonians in Japan. The dinner in Tokyo on Saturday 11 April will be near Tokyo station to allow as many as possible to attend. Professor Ian Neary of the Nissan Institute, who is currently on sabbatical in Japan, will join the dinner in Fukuoka on Wednesday 15 April.

Price: 6,000yen (Buffet and free drinks. Please pay on the door) 3,000yen for family members under the age of 20, children of  6 and under go for free.
