Event

“Fireside Chat” with a Head of House

The next event in our “Inside Oxford” series will be on the theme of one of the most distinctive aspects of life at the University – the Oxford College. In this session we will welcome as guest speaker Sir Martin Taylor, who has been the Warden of Merton College since 2010 and who will be retiring in September 2018 after eight years in post. In this informal conversation-style session we will ask Sir Martin to look back over his time heading one of Oxford’s most famous colleges, and ask him how colleges really work, and how the system gives so much lustre to Oxford life. Questions from the audience are encouraged, and this is your opportunity to really get the inside story on Oxford’s collegiate system.

The event will take place in a cosy restaurant in Sanbancho and will take the form of an informal “fireside chat” over drinks and food. The event is aimed at alumni and others with an affiliation to the University, potential students, and anyone else interested in the inside workings of the University of Oxford.
