The Cambridge and Oxford Society Kansai Chapter is hosting a dinner for Vice-Chancellor Professor Andrew Hamilton and Mrs Hamilton on Friday 13 November. Professor Hamilton will be in Japan for the last time in his current role as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford and is very much looking forward to meeting alumni in the area.
The dinner is open to all old and current members of the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge and their guests, and will be held from 19:30 – 21:30 in Bar Reed at Shin Hankyu Hotel near JR Osaka and Umeda stations. It is organised by the Cambridge and Oxford Society Kansai Chapter. If you are interested in attending you can sign up through the booking sheet below. Professor Hamilton did his PhD at the University of Cambridge.
The Cambridge and Oxford Society in Japan is thought to be one of the oldest, if not the oldest alumni society outside the UK. The earliest records for the Society show that already by 1921 they were holding their 37th Annual Meeting. Today the Society has very active chapters in both Tokyo and Kansai. Please look at their website here to find out more about their activities and how to become a member.
A very big thank you to the Camford Society Kansai Chapter for organising this event.
