Oxford University Dramatic Society (OUDS) are coming to Japan and will be performing Romeo and Juliet in Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre on 19 and 20 August, and in Sai-no-kuni Saitama Arts Theatre on 22 August.
OUDS is the University of Oxford’s famous student dramatic society with alumni including Richard Burton, Rowan Atkinson, Hugh Grant and this year’s Academy Award nominee Felicity Jones. Every year they collaborate with legendary British actress and producer Thelma Holt on an international tour to the UK and Japan. This year they are performing a contemporary version of Romeo and Juliet set in near future Verona.
Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre is kindly organising a couple of opportunities to meet the performers, who are all current students of the University. The evening performance on Wednesday 19 August will be followed by an opportunity to mingle and chat with the cast at a simple reception. The matinee performance on Thursday 20 August will be followed by a talk event.
Tickets to this annual Japan Tour always sell out quickly and you are advised to make your booking early.
