The Vice-Chancellor Professor Louise Richardson will be visiting Japan in May, and a reception will take place on Wednesday 24 May for all alumni and special guests affiliated to the University.
Professor Richardson became Oxford’s 272nd Vice-Chancellor in January 2016 and is the first woman to hold this post. Originally from Ireland, she had a distinguished career as a specialist in terrorism and security studies principally at Harvard University, before becoming Principal of the University of St Andrews in 2009.
Oxford continues to shine as one of the world’s truly great centres for academic excellence. In the most recent Times Higher World University Rankings, the University was placed top overall. With excellent results across all subjects, we were ranked number one for the sixth consecutive year for clinical, pre-clinical and health sciences. At the reception the Vice-Chancellor will talk about what it takes to achieve and sustain our position as the world’s top university in today’s turbulent and competitive world. There will also be plenty of time to meet the Vice-Chancellor, fellow alumni and friends of the University.
This is the first major alumni reception for the new Vice-Chancellor in Japan and all alumni are invited to attend. The reception will take place in the landmark Tokyo Station Hotel adjacent to Tokyo station. We are looking forward to seeing you on this very special occasion.
