The Kyoto Prize at Oxford will take place online on 11 May 2021.

This event is a collboration between Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government and the Inamori Foundation. Every year the laureates of the prestigious Kyoto Prize come to Oxford for a series of lectures, talks and discussions with students and faculty. The event was postponed in 2020 and will be hosted virtually this year for the first time.

The laureates taking part this year are: chemist Ching Tang (2019 Kyoto Prize Laureate for Advanced Technology), astrophysicist James Gunn (2019 Kyoto Prize Laureate for Basic Sciences), and theatre director Ariane Mnouchkine (2019 Kyoto Prize Laureate for Arts and Philosophy).

A unique and popular part of the Kyoto Prize at Oxford is the annual discussion with all laureates which will this year be moderated by the Dean of the Blavatnik School of Government Professor Ngaire Woods.
