Merton College will be holding a special dinner for Mertonians on the evening of Friday 24 January 2020 in central Tokyo. The dinner will be hosted by the new Warden of Merton College Professor Irene Tracey who will be visiting Japan for the first time in her current role.

Merton is one of the oldest and most beautiful colleges in Oxford with fine gardens and a central position between the meadows and the main centre of the city. The College celebrated its 750th anniversary in 2014. Professor Irene Tracey took up the post of Warden in October 2019. She is a distinguished neuroscientist, well-known for her work in anaesthetic science and the neuroscience of pain. She completed both her undergraduate degree and DPhil at Merton, before embarking on her career at Harvard Medical School and then returning to the University of Oxford where she was until recently the Head of the Department of Clinical Neurosciences.

If you are a Mertonian based in Japan and would like to attend this dinner, please register your interest through the link on the Merton College Alumni Events page.
