Sakaguchi International Scholarship Foundation has launched a new scholarship for outstanding Japanese DPhil students at Oxford who are intending in future to take a leadership role in an international organisation. The scholarship of 100,000JPY per month will be awarded from April 2019 for a maximum of 36 months.

Sakaguchi International Scholarship Foundation was founded in 1988 and has been awarding scholarships to foreign students coming to study in Japan for many years. From this year, they are planning to expand their activities to fund Japanese students studying overseas and have generously decided to offer this new scholarship for Japanese students studying at the University of Oxford. The scholarship is aimed at Japanese students taking a DPhil in any subject and who aspire to contribute proactively to international understanding, global friendship, and world peace.
