The Ashmolean Museum’s next major exhibition explores the theme of the city of Tokyo.
Tokyo: Art and Photography explores Tokyo and the art that the city has produced over the last 400 years. It includes well-known woodblock prints as well as work and specially commissioned pieces by contemporary photographers, along with other artworks such as video pieces, and folding screens.
The Ashmolean is the University’s museum of art and archaeology. Founded in 1683 it has a world-renowned collection ranging from Egyptian mummies to contemporary art.
The exhibition runs from 29 July 2021 until 3 January 2022. Advance booking is necessary and tickets can be reserved online through the Museum’s website.
