Professor Roger Goodman will be visiting Japan for the first time in his new role as Warden of St Antony’s College and there will be a dinner for Antonians on Saturday 24 March. If you were at St Antony’s College or have an affiliation with the College, you should already have received an invitation to this event. If you have not, please contact the College directly to sign up.
St Antony’s College is a graduate college in the north of Oxford specialising in the international relations, economics, politics and history of particular parts of the world. One of its seven specialist research centres is the Nissan Institute of Japanese Studies. The College therefore has excellent links with Japan.
Professor Goodman took over as Warden of St Antony’s College in October 2017, after serving as Head of the Social Sciences Division of the University of Oxford. Professor Goodman is a very prominent scholar in the field of the social anthropology of Japan, and is the Nissan Professor of Modern Japanese Studies.
If you are interested in attending this dinner please contact the College preferably by 28 February. Thank you to Professor Kozo Ueda and the St Antony’s Society of Japan for organising this event.
